LIV Golf may have just been given a big boost ahead of the 2026 season, although it may not feel that way for them right now.

The golfing landscape is fractured at this moment in time, with the ongoing power struggle between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf dragging on.

The PGA Tour is clearly in a position of strength while LIV seem to be struggling to convince the truly elite talent to jump ship.

Things went from bad to worse for LIV when Brooks Koepka left the league in December.

Is this the end of LIV Golf?

Now their new strategy has become clear.

The Saudi-backed circuit are signing mid-range, solid performers as they look to improve the strength in depth of their fields.

However, a deal they had in the pipeline to sign someone who fits perfectly into that category appears to have fallen through.

LIV Golf’s deal to sign PGA Tour player Max Greyserman collapses

According to X account, Flushing It, LIV Golf’s deal to sign Max Greyserman has fallen through.

It was reported that LIV had made an ‘eight-figure’ contract offer to Greyserman.

However, that deal has apparently now collapsed at the late stages of negotiation.

The thing is, that is actually a blessing in disguise for the Saudi-backed golf league.

Greyserman is a very good player, there is no doubt about that. However, the 30-year-old is certainly not a needle-mover, far from it in fact.

If LIV Golf is to survive moving forward, they need to make some real statement signings. With their viewing figures tanking, it’s fair to say that they need some real star pulling power if they are to ever accomplish their goals.

And the bottom line is that Greyserman simply wouldn’t have provided them with that.

LIV re-sign current player after Max Greyserman deal collapses

As a result of the deal to sign Greyserman falling through, LIV Golf have apparently moved to re-sign one of their current players.

Ben Campbell has re-signed for Range Goats GC for another season.

Which of these LIV Golf stars would you least like to see back on the PGA Tour?

The 34-year-old from New Zealand recorded just one top-10 finish on LIV in 2025.

It’s fair to say that Campbell is not a needle-mover in any way, as harsh as that may sound.

However, he’s a solid performer and will surely be working incredibly hard on his game in order to improve his results in 2026.

The next step for LIV Golf will be to make a real statement by signing a big name from the PGA Tour.

However, it remains to be seen whether they are able to do just that.
