Billy Horschel is one of a number of PGA Tour players looking to win their first major this year and after failing to get close in the opening few weeks of the season, Horschel is in doubt where he’s currently at.
Horschel had some big wins last year and beat out Rory McIlroy at the BMW in dramatic fashion.
However, the popular American has yet to win a major and despite getting himself in contention at The Open and finishing second, it’s not quite happened.
Furthermore, Horschel has got off to an inconsistent start in 2025, finishing 51st at The Sentry, missing the cut at the Sony Open, and then finishing a tie for 21st this weekend at The AMEX.
Still, Horschel is optimistic about his current game and he’s offered up an honest assessment of where his golf game is currently at.

Taking to social media to give an open assessment on his golf game right now, Horschel believes there’s plenty to be positive about despite the results not being what he wanted.

Horschel is one of the best players on the PGA Tour but at 38, he’s getting to the stage of his career where a major win needs to happen sooner rather than later.
Of course, players do win past their 40s and there’s been plenty who have done just that but with Horschel yet to win, the pressure to get one on the board will continue to build.
The American has won some big events so he is capable, and his second place last year at Royal Troon shows he can get among the frontrunners.
| Major | Year | Billy Horschel’s best finish |
| US Open | 2013 | T4 |
| The Open | 2024 | T2 |
| PGA Championship | 2024 | T8 |
| The Masters | 2016 | T17 |
Horschel will be hoping 2025 is finally his year but with so many players in the form of their life, getting one of the majors in the bag is going to be tougher than ever.
