With September now officially here and the Ryder Cup teams announced on both sides, we’re very much into a period of excitement we rarely get in the game of golf.
The Ryder Cup is the biggest event on the golf calendar and in terms of sporting events in general, it is right up there with things like the World Cup and even the Super Bowl.
People who don’t normally watch golf will tune into the Ryder Cup and with both Europe and the USA having passionate fanbases, the atmosphere has become increasingly tasty in recent times.
With Bethpage Black set to host 2025’s Ryder Cup, all eyes will be on the course and what could be a partisan crowd that could, in theory, swing the way the event goes.

However, while the talking points of boisterous crowds is there, those from the USA have also noticed a bit of a worry as Luke Donald confirmed his captain picks for Team Europe.
Indeed, it seems that the American fans are already pretty worried, based purely off some media footage.

American golf fans worried after seeing the difference between Team Europe and Team USA
One of the things labelled at the American team over the last few years has been a lack of cohesion, even if they’ve been a winning team.
A lot of golf fans would suggest America relies more on the pure talent they have at their disposal, whereas Europe enjoy a team spirit not seen in many places.
Now, after footage emerged online of a smiling Team Europe with Luke Donald and a less than engaged Team USA with Keegan Bradley, worry is setting in.
With the USA players looking barely interested, some fans are now thinking that the cup is lost before a ball has even been hit.
One fan suggested it was all down to Patrick Cantlay’s inclusion, saying ‘Cantlay displays his trademark excitement. Other 5 US Capt picks realizing they might have to play with Cantlay.’
While another claimed it’s game over already.
“”We are definitely going to lose. This is such a perfect tweet.”
Pointing out the obvious, another made it clear the Europeans looked happy.
“It’s crazy how the European players were smiling and seemed happy to be here compared to their American counterparts“
While another claimed the image tells everyone all they need to know.
“Tells you everything you need to know to decide who will win”
Making another point on the matter, one fan pointed out how this could actually be on Bradley.
With another agreeing, suggesting making him captain was a mistake.
“Europe will win retain the Ryder Cup. America making Bradley a captain is the one of the dumbest moves in Ryder Cup history”
Team Europe need their spirit to win at Bethpage
The atmosphere in Rome was electric and it was clear as day which team had the better connection.
Luke Donald has done a remarkable job of getting this group of European players singing off the same hymn sheet and in Italy, it shone through.
Now, going to New York and in what could be one of the most intense atmospheres we’ve seen on a golf course, Donald and his charges will need all that spirit from 2023 and more.
Donald and Europe often talk of channelling the spirit of Seve Ballesteros. If they’re to win and retain in 2025, then that needs to be on full display.
