Aaron Rai became the latest winner on the PGA Tour as he produced a stellar final round to win the Wyndham Championship.
Rai looked like he was about to come up short again as Max Greyserman looked on course for a rampant victory.
However, a quadruple bogey for Greyserman on 14 followed by a four-putt five on 16 saw his lead collapse and Rai was there to pounce and win out by two clear shots.
For Rai, the win has been a long time coming.
Wins on the Challenge Tour and then the DP World Tour had set him in motion but since winning in 2020, Rai had failed to follow up with a victory on the PGA Tour.
That has all changed now and remarkably, Rai has admitted he had to ask his caddie exactly how things stood when he was on the 18th tee.

Aaron Rai shares what his caddie said on 18 at the Wyndham Championship
Speaking to the media after his round had finished and he was confirmed a winner, Rai admitted that he’d looked to his caddie to tell him the lay of the land before teeing off.
“I did ask my caddie on the 18th tee what the situation was. He knows me pretty well and I trust whatever he says to me.
“He said just focus on playing a good hole here. I assumed from him saying that, that’s probably what it meant [that he was in the lead].
“And then walking up to the green I did have a look to see the leaderboard, but until that stage I wasn’t aware of what the situation was.”
Rai has been knocking on the door all year
Taking The Open out of it, Aaron Rai has been on an upward trajectory in recent times and it’s always felt a matter of when, not if, he’d win on the PGA Tour.
A second place at the Rocket Mortgage Classic was followed by a 7th and 4th placed finish before he struggled at Royal Troon.
Rai also finished top 20 at the difficult US Open so when you look back on the last few months, his game has been in a good place.
This is a deserved win. And Rai’s comments on not looking at the leaderboard – something Rory McIlroy struggles not to do – suggest a winning mentality and very much staying in the moment.
