LIV Golf finally seems to be making some decent moves during the off-season it seems.

The past few months have been hugely concerning for LIV, with the PGA Tour seemingly going from strength to strength.

Brooks Koepka’s exit from LIV Golf seems to be a real ‘line in the sand’ moment, with many questioning whether the PIF-backed league would be able to sustain the blow of losing such a big star.

Players like Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im have turned down contracts from LIV, allegedly.

What PGA Tour players do you believe LIV Golf can realistically sign before the 2026 season?

LIV could have doubled that figure ($150 million) and the answer would have still been ‘no’.

The lack of world ranking points and being potentially frozen out of the major championships wasn’t worth it.

Then it was announced that Max Greyserman would be joining from the PGA Tour. No offence to Greyserman, but talk about an underwhelming signing!

In general, things looked rather bleak for LIV Golf.

However, there is some good news for LIV Golf fans on Tuesday, as two exciting players seem to have committed to joining the Saudi league before the 2026 season.

The PGA Tour is in a position of real strength right now.

With that in mind, it will be vitally important for LIV to get some decent signings over the line before the start of the 2026 season.

It seems that is exactly what they have just managed to do.

According to a report from UK publication The Times, Thomas Detry and Elvis Smylie are both about to join LIV Golf.

Detry is set to join the 4 Aces to replace Harold Varner III, who is ready to join Smash GC.

Meanwhile, talented young Australian Smylie will join Ripper GC to replace the recently released Matt Jones.

Detry won the Waste Management Phoenix Open in 2025 and the 32-year-old is a hugely exciting talent.

However, 23-year-old Smylie is perhaps even more exciting and these two additions will definitely be positives for LIV Golf.

The Australian already has two professional wins to his name – one of which came on the DP World Tour – and the future seems to be very bright for him.

LIV sign another player to a new contract

As well as the new signings of Detry and Smylie, LIV is making moves by retaining many of their players as well.

The latest golfer to commit his short-term future to the Saudi-backed outfit is Sam Horsfield.

Horsfield has re-signed with the Majesticks for the 2026 season…

The Majesticks will now be an all-English team with Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood co-captaining the side, as well as Horsfield and the recent addition of Laurie Canter.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on the Majesticks in 2026 to see whether they can improve on their fairly poor showings throughout the first three years on LIV Golf.

Will Horsfield be able to raise his levels and will Canter make a big difference for them? Only time will tell.
