Tiger Woods played the game unlike any other golfer, with fans desperate for the legendary figure to get back on the course as soon as possible.

Woods could move to the PGA Tour Champions amid his lengthy absence from the PGA Tour, with injuries having heavily impacted his playing time recently.

He’s been unable to showcase his talents this year for that reason, with Woods undergoing back surgery shortly after undergoing surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Showing he’s only human, Woods did endure a nightmare at The Masters once upon a time, but more often than not he was a class above everyone else in his prime, particularly at Augusta National.

Woods is, therefore, clearly a player that amateur golfers and indeed his fellow professionals can learn so much from.

Fortunately, the 15-time major winner was on hand to offer expert but simple advice earlier this season, teaching others how to go big with the driver.

Offering a demonstration on the course, Woods explained: “If I’m going to hit this ball up, tee the ball up a little higher.

“I’m moving up in my stance maybe about a half a ball, and I’m really committed to staying back behind the golf ball to send it.

“And so what I like to try and feel is if I really, really stand on this right leg, and really stand on it, put all the weight driving into the ground and trying basically to hit up on as much as I possibly can. Not try and get ahead of it like I do for a cut.”

Analysing Woods’ efforts off the tee in his most recent season certainly wouldn’t be fair given his lack of appearances.

He’s yet to appear on the PGA Tour in 2025, while last season the legendary figure made just five starts in total.

And from those five starts, he withdrew during his first event at The Genesis Invitational, with three missed cuts also on his record.

Woods did manage to finish 60th at The Masters, a tournament he won in 2019, but missed the cut at the other three major championships.

Fittingly, Woods was one of the standout players with his driver during his unforgettable 2000 season, when he won three majors.

In arguably his best-ever year on the PGA Tour, the icon ranked at the very top of the pile for total driving, and second for driving distance.
