Padraig Harrington is showing no signs of ending his fantastic career anytime soon, which will be welcome news for the golfing world.

Harrington is still going strong on the PGA Tour Champions, boasting two wins from his 14 starts this season.

He also treated fans to six appearances on the PGA Tour, including Harrington playing an “emotional” Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

While his best days are behind him, the three-time major champion remains a firm favourite among golf fans, and indeed among his fellow professionals.

And fortunately for amateur golfers, the iconic Irishman has been on hand to share some of his vast golf knowledge over the years.

Padraig Harrington’s ‘trick’ to help amateurs improve their golf swing

Harrington shared one fantastic tip on his YouTube channel in 2023, which he noted explained how to “execute a perfect golf swing using proper body movement”.

Noting that “Most pros don’t know this trick”, he explained with a demonstration: “What you’re really trying to do here is you’re trying to change the relationship between your torso – if you want to get this right that is – and your arms.

“So that would be all arms through, we’re trying to get a situation that our torso keeps going, but our arms are curtailed somewhat.

“So we are trying to get, and this is crucial, you’re still trying to get your right hip past your left hip, you’re still trying to get your right shoulder closest to the target, except you’re going to get it with a shorter arm swing.”
