John Daly is best known for his huge hitting off the tee, but the iconic American previously really impressed in many other areas.
Daly boasts two major championship wins from his superb career, which arrived at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.
He triumphed at the former in 1991 and the latter in 1995, winning by three shots and via a playoff respectively.
Daly has since moved on to the PGA Tour Champions, where he has added one title to his five from the PGA Tour.

John Daly’s range drill to help golfers stop hooking their irons
Not many amateur golfers can drive a ball like he did, but fortunately he was once on hand to explain a simple range drill covering another area that others can include in their preparations.
Hitting shots on the range with just his left hand, Daly explained: “The reason I started doing this when I got a little older, about 2000, was that I wanted to go from a draw to a cut.
“The balls were getting harder and going further, so I could not control the draw as much, so I went to a cut.
Would you rather win The Open or hole the putt to retain the Ryder Cup?
“I sat down one day and kept hooking these eight or nine irons, I was hitting it like c—. So I thought let me get my wedge and I just started hitting one arm wedges, with a lob wedge.
“I felt my left forearm get a lot stronger and if your left arm is strong, you can work the club any way you want.
“If my left arm was strong it was going to be easier to hit a cut. I started doing this and it actually helped the tempo of my golf swing.
“When you are talking about deceleration, you don’t want to decel. And I do this drill so I don’t decel. I don’t hit them all solidly, but that left arm is ahead of the ball and the club and that’s where you want it.”
Who was the best iron player on the PGA Tour in 2025?
Several world-class iron players have come and gone over the years, dating all the way back to legendary figure Ben Hogan.
Since then, the likes of Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino and Tom Watson have all shone in that area.
