Adam Scott possesses one of the best golf swings in the professional game and now every single amateur golfer can learn from the popular Australian.

Scott has achieved incredible success across the globe over the past 24 years, winning 14 PGA Tour tournaments and 32 professional events in total.

Now amateurs should listen closely to his fantastic golf tip about how to improve their swing.

Scott’s career peaked when he won The Masters in 2013, and if truth be known, he should have won many more majors.

Pretty much every single professional golfer envies the 45-year-old’s golf swing.

Now he has told everyone what the secret is to swinging the golf club better and more consistently.

Adam Scott’s ‘secret’ for a good golf swing

Scott is well known as being one of the PGA Tour’s good guys, so perhaps it’s no surprise that he has shared the secret behind his aesthetically pleasing golf swing.

During an interview with Iona Stephen, Scott highlighted how golf instruction has become far too complicated these days.

He said: I actually think rhythm is the secret. There are some fundamentals that probably everybody could use, but developing your own rhythm and owning that rhythm of what works for you, I think is the biggest thing.

Over the last at least 15 years golf coaching has become incredibly technical, there is so much information from biomechanics. We have broken it down to a million frames a second or whatever it is! So we can see everything.

But I think no matter what path your swing is on, or how the club face looks. If you understand your own rhythm of how the club has to move around your body then you can have a really great golf swing.

The way that Scott simplifies the golf swing is so refreshing to hear. Amateur golfers get way too caught up in the mechanics of the swing, when the key to consistent ball-striking actually hinges on good rhythm and tempo.

Adam Scott’s tip on how to unlock extra power off the tee

Back in 2016 during an interview with GOLF.com, Scott shared the secret to unlocking extra power off the tee which you might never know you had.

The beauty of this tip from Scott is that it has nothing to do with the golf swing itself.

The Australian shared how the key to unlocking extra power and speed all starts at address.

He said: For maximum rotation and speed creation, your hips need to tilt forward at address. (Think “belt buckle pointed toward the ball.”) When you see me on TV doing my pre-shot routine, you might notice me pushing my rear end forward and then back out—that’s how I lock my hips into position. Try it—you’ll instantly feel more athletic. Better yet, the move frees up your spine while silencing your lower body. That’s the power-rich coil every player craves. So copy what you see here. Stats don’t lie—these address-position keys can hand you yards in a hurry.

He then explained how ‘firing the shoulders’ is crucial to gaining speed.

Scott said: You hear a lot about “firing your hips” to start the downswing. I favor “firing your shoulders.” For one, even those with moderate athletic ability will instinctively “fire” the hips—it’s a natural hitting impulse. But when you think of where your upper body needs to be at the finish—with your chest facing left of the target and your right shoulder ahead of your left—the upper body has work to do. So from the top my mantra is “Turn your shoulders, Adam!” And don’t worry about “coming over the top”; a full shoulder turn—rather than simply lifting your arms—takes care of that. Just assertively rotate your upper body through impact and let the ball get in the way. It won’t know what hit it.

By following Scott’s advice, not only will you be able to swing the club better, but you’ll be hitting the ball longer in no time as well!
