Tiger Woods once spoke about his unbelievable daily regimen during the prime years of his career.

Most golf fans are aware that Woods completely changed the professional golf scene when he started dominating.

His elite athleticism took everyone by surprise and inspired other players to take physical fitness more seriously.

Still, no one would have trained quite like Woods, as his routine involved running eight miles every day.

Tiger Woods’ amazing training regimen in his prime

Tiger Woods discussed his old training schedule during his press conference before the 2018 Genesis Open.

He also revealed that it had come up in a conversation with fellow major champion Justin Thomas not long before.

Woods explained, via Golf Channel: “JT was asking me about this on a flight, ‘So what did you used to do when you were about my age?’

“Well, I used to get up in the morning, run four miles, then I’d go to the gym, do my lift, then I’d hit balls for about two to three hours.

“I’d go play, come back, work on my short game, run another four more miles, and then, if I wanted to play basketball or tennis, then I would go play basketball or tennis.

“That was a daily routine. I’m not doing any of that now.”

Woods’ work ethic is what separated him from every other golfer in his generation and allowed him to become arguably the greatest of all time.

How many wins do you think 2000’s Tiger Woods would have if playing in 2025?

Tiger Woods’ regimen may have caused injury troubles

People often attribute injuries to luck, and that definitely plays a role, but several other factors are also involved.

One reason that athletes can suffer injuries is that they push their bodies to the limit.

Well, that could potentially apply to Woods, considering how much training he did during his prime.

It might not be a coincidence that he dealt with many injury issues after training harder than everyone else for multiple years.

One could argue that it was worth it because Woods’ methods helped him dominate the sport, while others may suggest that they cost him longevity.
