The second major of the year is nearly upon us and there’s a bunch of bold predictions doing the rounds over who might win it.

Valhalla plays host to the PGA Championship once again and there’ll be a big group of players fancying their chances.

With Scottie Scheffler potentially missing if his wife gives birth, there is a genuine opening for someone else to take top spot if the world number one does pull out.

Among the star names who’ll fancy the win will be past winners like Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and Jason Day, while we mustn’t rule out Tiger Woods, regardless of his physical state.

But while those are all huge names with multiple PGA Tour wins, some players come into the event looking to win the PGA having never actually won on tour.

With that in mind, we’ve picked out three players yet to win on the PGA Tour, who could come out on top at Valhalla.

1. Tommy Fleetwood

It’s actually amazing to think that a player so talented like Tommy Fleetwood hasn’t quite got over the line on the PGA Tour just yet.

Fleetwood is one of the best ball-strikers in the game and has won countless events on the European Tour to show he can get it done.

Further, his performances in multiple Ryder Cups have also been massive and Fleetwood is often tipped among the contenders when the majors roll around.

Expect Fleetwood to be chomping at the bit to get this one done and in doing so, capture a very first major as well.

Perhaps not quite as obvious a pick as Fleetwood, but 28-year-old American Doug Ghim is a player who can play the game of golf and play it very well.

Ghim has yet to register a victory on tour but did start the 2024 season in good enough form to suggest he’d been in the mix.

Five top 20 finishes in a row between The Farmers in January and then the Players in March showed that Ghim is very much a force to be reckoned with.

Since then, his form has tailed off and he’s missed the cut in three of the last four, including the Byron Nelson last weekend.

However, don’t get against Ghim coming to life at Valhalla and being one of the outsiders to make a splash.

3. Robert MacIntyre

Continuing the theme of European players, Ryder Cup winner Robert MacIntyre is a player who surely cannot go too long without winning on the PGA Tour.

The left-hander is too good a player and has shown over the recent years that he can win.

He has played more than 40 events now without winning on Tour but over in Europe, has emerged victorious twice and was only beaten to the Scottish Open title by a putt on the last from Rory McIlroy last year.

MacIntyre, then, will be hoping to get it going at Valhalla and prove he can compete at the very highest level again.
