There have been some magnificent performances from some of the big-name players on the PGA Tour this season.
However, some of the big-name PGA Tour stars have been extremely underwhelming as well.
Cam Young and Matt Fitzpatrick have been the standout stars in 2026, while Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have put together some impressive results as well.
It has been a seriously entertaining PGA Tour season so far, with a nice mix of different winners.

That said, there are numerous big-name players who have flattered to deceive so far, and they will be desperate to turn things around very quickly indeed.
The five most disappointing players on the PGA Tour this season
There are plenty of big-name players who have failed to deliver so far this season.
Here are the five who I believe have been more underwhelming than most…
Wyndham Clark has struggled over the past year or so, but he did find some form during the final few months of last season.
However, his performances have been nowhere near good enough so far in 2026.
Clark, 32, has missed two cuts in 11 outings so far this season.
He is still yet to record a top-10 finish this season and has just four top-25s to his name.
Big improvements are required from the 2023 US Open champion.
Next up is Justin Thomas. Sure, he only returned to action in March after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to back surgery.
However, he would have expected so much more from himself.
Aside from his impressive T-8 finish at The Players Championship, Thomas has been very flat this season, and he’ll be hoping to really pick up his form during the second half of the year.
List of big-name PGA Tour flops in 2026 has strong European flavor
Viktor Hovland is another big-name player who has struggled in 2026.

In nine appearances, he has just one top-10 finish to his name, and that was a T-10 in Phoenix.
He has missed one cut and has mostly finished around the middle of the field. Major improvements required from the Norwegian.
Shane Lowry came so close to winning the Cognizant Classic back in March.
However, his disastrous finish at PGA National was symbolic of his 2026 season.
He has only made seven cuts in 10 events so far and has only two top-10 finishes to his name. Lowry really needs to start winning more regularly if he is to go down as a true legend of the game.
Finally, we come to Tommy Fleetwood.
On face value, he hasn’t been bad at all in 2026. He has made eight out of eight cuts and has one top-5 and three top-10 finishes to his name.
However, he hasn’t been in contention to win once, and that is a real letdown after his incredible finish to the 2025 season, where he won the Tour Championship and was crowned as the FedEx Cup champion.
He has set really high expectations of himself and, unfortunately, he hasn’t met them so far this season.
It’s still very early on in the season, so Fleetwood, Lowry, Hovland, Thomas and Clark still have plenty of time to turn things around.
Whether any of them will get over the line and win anytime soon remains to be seen, though.
