The dust has settled on Valhalla’s lush fairways after the 2024 PGA Championship concluded on Sunday evening.

It’s fair to say the year’s second major wasn’t short of drama both on and off the golf course.

Thankfully, a pulsating final round in Louisville saw attention shift from Scottie Scheffler’s Friday morning arrest to what was the highest calibre golf from the best players on the planet.

Xander Schauffele was the man to take the title after fending off a resurgent Bryson DeChambeau thanks to a nerveless birdie putt on the 18th.

It was a memorable and record-breaking week for Schauffele, who will now head to Pinehurst in confident form.

As for DeChambeau, the big-hitting American showcased his remarkable distance at Valhalla and was, perhaps unsurprisingly, clocked one of the biggest hitters of the weekend.

Here, The Golfing Gazette shares the five longest drives from the 2024 PGA Championship.

5. Rasmus Hojgaard

Dane Rasmus Hojgaard managed to register a drive of 346 yards during the 2024 championship. Unfortunately, his distance couldn’t help him escape a disappointing T68 finish.

4. Erik van Rooyen

South African Erik van Rooyen also caught the eye with some impressive work off the tee.

His longest effort came in at 348 yards.

It was a positive week for the 34-year-old, finishing T53 on five under par.

3. Lucas Herbert

LIV Golf ace Lucas Herbert smashed the third-longest drive of the week with an impressive 348-yard effort.

It was an impressive PGA Championship for the Aussie, who finished T43 after receiving a late invitation.

2. Rory McIlroy

It should come as no surprise to see Rory McIlroy’s name appear near the top of the charts. The Northern Irishman’s longest drive of 349 yards sees him edge out Herbert.

The world number two, however, will be disappointed not to threaten the leaders after his dominant performance at Quail Hollow the week prior.

1. Bryson DeChambeau

As expected, DeChambeau tops the charts. However, the distance he’s won by is staggering.

The American’s 360-yard drive was 11 yards further than McIlroy’s.

It was no surprise to see the 30-year-old impressive on Valhalla’s long and lush fairways. He will face a completely different test when he heads to Pinehurst for the U.S. Open.
