Scottie Scheffler is doing things that we quite simply have not seen since Tiger Woods’ heyday.

Scheffler‘s victory at the BMW Championship on Sunday made it five wins for him this season and 18 in total in the PGA Tour throughout his career to date.

He has won four major championships in three years as well, so it’s little wonder why comparisons have already been made between Scheffler and Woods.

Scheffler’s imperious form has seen him move into a position whereby the PGA Tour Player of the Year race is now a foregone conclusion.

Not only is he the best ball-striker on the planet, but he is the fiercest competitor in world golf as well, and that’s quite the combination.

Scheffler’s comments prior to The Open Championship on the lack of fulfilment he gets from winning were seriously misconstrued.

He wouldn’t have won 18 PGA Tour events and four major championships in three-and-a-half years if he didn’t have a tremendous hunger to win and an unrivalled dedication to his craft.

The Texan’s record in the game means that he doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone.

The five best active PGA Tour players whose careers have been surpassed by Scottie Scheffler

Scheffler’s run since 2022 has been truly remarkable.

18 PGA Tour wins, four major championships, two Hero World Challenges and an Olympic gold medal all in the space of three-and-a-half years is a simply outstanding return.

And incredibly, he has surpassed the careers of five exceptionally successful PGA Tour stars during that stunning period of golf.

Justin Thomas has won 16 times on tour and has two majors to his name. Meanwhile, Adam Scott has won 14 PGA Tour titles and a solitary major.

Jordan Spieth has 13 tour wins and three majors on his résumé, while Jason Day has the same amount of PGA Tour wins as Spieth, but with only one major to his name.

And finally, Justin Rose has recorded 12 PGA Tour wins and one major championship win.

It is amazing to think that Scheffler has achieved more than all of those golfers have throughout their entire careers to date in just three-and-a-half years.

The 29-year-old’s sensational consistency and uncanny ability to rack up wins at such an incredible rate since 2022 has been breathtaking to witness.

And the fact that he has won more than Thomas, Scott, Spieth, Day and Rose have throughout their careers already is evidence of just how elite he is.

And the scary thing for his rivals is that there is absolutely no sign that he’s about to slow down anytime soon.

Scottie Scheffler’s PGA Tour record vs five hugely successful players

He is the dominant force in world golf right now, and the truth of the matter is that he has been for quite some time now.

Here are Scheffler’s PGA Tour results compared with some of the very best players who are still active on tour:

Scheffler has more wins and more major titles to his name than all of those players mentioned above and incredibly, he has played 101 fewer events than Thomas – the man with the least amount of tournaments under his belt.

The 29-year-old is clearly heading on a path towards golfing immortality. He only has one more major to secure before he joins the Grand Slam club and it would surprise nobody if he achieved that at the US Open at Shinnecock Hills in 2026.

It wouldn’t be a shock either if in 10 years’ time, we were talking about Scheffler as a 10-time major champion and a 50-time PGA Tour winner, at the very least.
