Nelly Korda is making her Women’s Scottish Open debut this week as she continues her search for a first win of the season.

Korda is likely heading for a big win soon, but thus far she has failed to get over the line in 2025, having clinched a stunning seven wins in 2024.

Another chance has arrived at the Women’s Scottish Open, which is now underway at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire.

Korda headlines a star-studded field in Scotland, with the LPGA Tour event arriving right before the fifth major championship of the year.

Recent major winners Grace Kim, Minjee Lee and Maja Stark are all in the field ahead of the Women’s Open next week.

Nelly Korda handed interesting grouping at the Women’s Scottish Open

And the LPGA Tour have made a superb and indeed intriguing decision involving Korda for the early stages of the event.

The world number one is unsurprisingly among a featured group on Thursday, where she’ll play alongside Charley Hull and Lottie Woad.

Hull boasts multiple top 10 finishes at the tournament throughout her career, while her views on the game have certainly drawn plenty of attention in recent times.

English ace Hull bemoaned the ‘crazy’ pace of play at the Women’s PGA Championship last month, one of many instances she has been left frustrated by the issue.

She is also fortunately back on the course this week after collapsing at the Evian Championship during her first round as she battled a virus.

Woad meanwhile has been the talk of women’s golf of late after emerging victorious at the Irish Open as an amateur.

There are four past champions in the Women’s Scottish Open field at Dundonald Links, along with 11 LPGA Tour rookies.

And Woad is undoubtedly the most notable, with the English rising star making her professional debut after earning LPGA Tour membership via the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway.

That arrived after Woad’s hugely impressive T3 finish at the Evian Championship in France earlier this month.

And despite her brief career so far, the 21-year-old has already caught the eye of PGA Tour star Justin Rose.

He wrote on X ahead of the event: “Time for a new chapter Lottie Woad. Good luck tomorrow making your professional debut Women’s Scottish Open, let the fun begin!!”

Playing alongside Korda will be both a challenge and a fantastic experience at this stage of her career, with Woad certain to learn a lot from the world number one.

But Hull can also provide superb insight into the game, while she will have success on her mind at an event in which she has never missed the cut.

The interesting featured groups certainly don’t end there, with PGA Championship winner Minjee Lee paired with Rio Takeda and Megan Khang.

And US Women’s Open champion Stark will play alongside Scottish Number One Gemma Dryburgh and Scottish amateur Hannah Darling.
