Three-putting is a sickening feeling for professionals and amateurs, and it can often be the difference between having a great or disappointing round.
It’s no surprise that the likes of Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler are among the tour’s best when it comes to three-putt avoidance.
Several pros have even tried to offer advice on the best practices to avoid wasting too many strokes on the putting greens. Bryson DeChambeau reiterated the importance of pace control in a recent Instagram video.
However, some players on the PGA Tour clearly still struggle to avoid wasting shots with the flat stick.
Joseph Bramlett holds unwanted PGA Tour statistic

Joseph Bramlett is a name which could sound familiar to some golf fans. During the recent Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas, Bramlett left fans stunned after five-putting in the windy conditions.
The American’s struggles on the greens are not new, however.
During the 2024 PGA Tour season, no player has three-putted more. Bramlett has three-putted 55 times during his 80 competitive rounds this season.
The 36-year-old has finished in the top 25 three times in 2024 and missed 11 cuts. Interestingly, despite five-putting at the Shriners, Bramlett battled to make the cut and earned himself $17,000 in prize money.
Worst three-putt average on PGA Tour
Bramlett, however, doesn’t have the worst three-putt average on the PGA Tour. Rafael Campos, who won last week’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship, has the worst number of three-putts compared to the number of rounds played. The Puerto Rican has made 47 three-putts in 58 rounds.
Alejandro Tosti is second, having made 52 in 67 rounds thus far. Wilson Furr and Vincent Norrman are tied for third.
| Rank | Player | Avg | Total 3 Putts | Total Rounds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rafael Campos | .81 | 47 | 58 |
| 2 | Alejandro Tosti | .78 | 52 | 67 |
| 3 | Wilson Furr | .76 | 42 | 55 |
| 3 | Vincent Norrman | .76 | 37 | 49 |
At the other end of the standings, world number two Schauffele has the best average on the PGA Tour and has three-putted just 14 times, 41 less than Bramlett.
Schauffele’s Presidents Cup teammate Russell Henley is second and has the least three putts in 2024 with 13.
