Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Charley Hull and Nelly Korda are four of the biggest names on the PGA and LPGA Tours.
Scheffler and Korda, in particular, have dominated in 2024, registering 16 victories between them. Scheffler’s most recent victory came at the Hero World Challenge, and Korda’s latest win was The Annika.
Xander Schauffele and Charley Hull have also impressed over 2024. Schauffele’s Open Championship triumph came just two months after his maiden major victory at the PGA Championship. As for Hull, the English star won the Aramco Team Series in Saudi Arabia.
Clearly, the quartet are stars of the professional game, but how exactly do their statistics match up, specifically in terms of driving and approach play?
The Golfing Gazette compares the top players from both the women’s and men’s golf games.

Nelly Korda’s driving and approach play statistics
Korda, as to be expected, produced some pretty impressive numbers throughout the 2024 season. The world number one’s average driving distance was 269 yards, with an accuracy rate of 75%.
As a result, the American gained over half shot with the driver in hand.
| Nelly Korda 2024 stats | Stat |
| Driving distance | 269 yards |
| Driving accuracy | 75% |
| SG driving | +0.72 |
| GIR | 76% |
| SG approach | +0.43 |
Regarding approach play, Korda hit greens in regulation 76% of the time and picked up +0.4 shots with her approach shots. Interestingly, Hull’s driving and approach play match up well against her American rival.
Charley Hull’s driving and approach play statistics 2024
Hull’s 271-yard driving average means she’s marginally longer off the tee. Although, her driving accuracy was less than Korda’s.
When it came to approach play, Korda hit slightly more greens in regulation and gained 0.02 strokes on Hull on approach shots.
| Charley Hull 2024 stats | Stat |
| Driving distance | 271 yards |
| Driving accuracy | 72% |
| SG driving | +0.7 |
| GIR | 73% |
| SG approach | +0.41 |
But, considering the dominance Korda has shown this season tee-to-green, Hull’s numbers provide reason to be optimistic.

Scottie Scheffler’s driving and approach play statistics
Now, let’s compare the LPGA stars to Scheffler and Schauffele. On average, Scheffler’s drives were going 30 yards further than Korda and Hull, although with less accuracy.
| Scottie Scheffler 2024 stats | Stat |
| Driving distance | 303 yards |
| Driving accuracy | 66% |
| SG driving | +0.8 |
| GIR | 73% |
| SG approach | +1.269 |
Scheffler’s approach play is where he really begins to separate himself from his LPGA counterparts. The world’s best player gained 1.269 strokes when approaching the greens, considerably more than Hull and Korda.
Furthermore, despite driving with less accuracy, Scheffler managed to gain more shots off the tee.
Xander Schauffele’s driving and approach play statistics
Schauffele’s driving and approach play stats actually match closer to those on the LPGA Tour than they do to Scheffler’s, given the two-time Masters winner’s complete dominance of late.
Schauffele averages five more yards off the tee but is 6% less accurate. Furthermore, the reigning Open champion is 15% less accurate than Korda.
| Xander Schauffele 2024 stats | Stat |
| Driving distance | 308 yards |
| Driving accuracy | 60% |
| SG driving | +0.55 |
| GIR | 69% |
| SG approach | +0.678 |
What’s more, Schauffele gained fewer shots off the tee than Korda, Hull and Scheffler. The American also hit fewer greens in regulation than his LPGA counterparts.
However, the American did manage to gain more strokes with his approaches compared to Hull and Korda.
