The 2025 Ryder Cup is rapidly approaching, with Team USA hosting Team Europe at Bethpage Black in September.
Team Europe captain Luke Donald has been impressed by Nicolai Hojgaard ahead of the event, where the visitors are the defending champions.
Donald wants his Ryder Cup players to acclimatise for the tournament, as he looks to captain the team to back-to-back wins.
Europe defeated the USA 16½ – 11½ in Rome in 2023, with the USA having won on home soil in 2021 at Whistling Straits.
Donald has already gone down in European Ryder Cup history with his recent success, but now has the chance to further his status in New York.

Ian Woosnam has worst singles record and most four-ball wins in Ryder Cup history
The captain has followed in the footsteps of many iconic figures before him in captaining Team Europe at the prestigious event, with Ian Woosnam also on that list.
And the Welshman certainly has a more intriguing Ryder Cup history than most, having served as captain in 2006 and as a vice-captain in 2002.

Europe emerged victorious on both occasions, but it is Woosnam’s playing career in the competition that is truly remarkable.
He represented his side in eight successive Ryder Cups from 1983 to 1997, during which he failed to win any singles matches.
But despite that 0-6-2 record, Woosnam boasts 10 four-ball wins, which is a Ryder Cup record, with Spanish duo Sergio Garcia and Jose Maria Olazabal tied for second with nine.
What was Ian Woosnam’s Ryder Cup singles record?
Given his heavy presence at the Ryder Cup over the years, Phil Mickelson finds himself among those with a long list of losses.
The American has six singles defeats to his name, with another former Ryder Cup regular in Lee Westwood sitting on seven.
Christy O’Connor leads the way with 10, but Woosnam’s zero wins have resigned him to the worst Ryder Cup singles record.
The former world number one will, of course, rightfully be remembered for his overall success at the event, along with his superb 1991 Masters victory.
Woosnam is also a World Golf Hall of Fame member thanks to his efforts over the years, having been inducted in 2017.
